Earlier this year, it was reported that “One Punch Man” Season 2 would air during the third or last quarter of 2016, although the fans will have to wait a few more weeks to see the next adventure of the world’s most powerful hero, Saitama.
According to iTech Post, “One Punch Man” Season 2 will arrive during the first quarter of 2017, and upon its release, it may feature a quite different storyline compared to the original story arcs of the “One Punch Man” manga series. Some fans are unsure if this will be a wise move since the original contents from the manga are already interesting enough. Nevertheless, they can only expect the second season to be bigger and have a darker theme compared to the first season.
The viewers should watch out for a larger lineup of villains that will challenge Saitama in Season 2. It is rumored that the main antagonist of the first season, Lord Boros, will make an epic comeback next year to exact revenge against his enemy. Also, it is possible that the new villains such as Amai Mask and Garou will also be an adversary due to their twisted beliefs in maintaining true peace and order in the world.
Meanwhile, Mobi Picker reported that the second season will further explore the secret behind Saitama’s power. It was only explained in the first season that Saitama’s non-stop training for three straight years gave him the power beyond compare. This was also the same reason cited for his bald appearance.
