Japanese anime creator holds workshops in Riyadh

Saudi Gazette – January 18, 2016 – The Japanese Embassy invited renowned anime creator Osamu Kobayashi to Riyadh under the Japan Foundation scheme – Performing Arts, Lecture and Demonstration Programs for Presentation of Japanese Arts and Culture.

The embassy held a lecture and demonstration of contemporary Japanese culture through his animation works from Jan. 12-15.

Kobayashi is a versatile animator who does conceptual design, illustration and animation direction. For his accomplishments in the anime industry with the distinguished artistic approach, he has been invited for a number of public lectures in countries such as the US, France and Germany.

At the lecture in Riyadh, he introduced his production process of animation – how to make an animation film – with his latest work.

The audience including media business people and designers enjoyed the lecture and learned a lot about the Japanese culture with technology. In addition to the lecture, Kobayashi granted interviews to local media production companies.

The event was one of the cultural undertakings the embassy implemented in cooperation with Saudi friends. — SG
